The back roads now my chosen path
It’s time to slow things down
The madness of this anxious world
Its victims all around
For years my pace was unrestrained
I lost out on so much
The friends I cherished from my youth
we soon fell out of touch
I can’t go back to yesterday
no matter how I try
That chapter now is lost in time
those facts I can’t deny
I’ll settle for some piece of mind
enjoy the simple things
I’ll share my life with those I meet
and what tomorrow brings
