When Love Gets In The Way

We started out as such good friends

each day was so much fun

Our conversations made me laugh

strong friends we had become

In time I came to want much more

I pushed you far away

Excuses soon became your way

to stay apart each day

For many months I hurt inside

the pain would not let go

No matter what I tried to do

my feelings always showed

Each day Id try to drown you out

pretend you were not there

And then Id see you walking by

I couldn't help but stare

There is no place to run and hide 

when love gets in the way

No matter where you try to go

your heart gives you a way
