Somebody New

The chains fell off my heart today

I heard them hit the floor

For years I was your prisoner

a slave and nothing more

I gave you everything I had

and would have given more

You made it very clear to me

another you adored

Oh how much can a lover give

with nothing in return?

You sit alone upon your throne

my gifts of love you spurn

Today I'm walking out that door

I found somebody new

His throne he wants to share with me

he loves me unlike you
