Oh sweet slumber hold me close
and tell me it’s alright
I haven’t slept for days on end
I’ll try again tonight
The thought of leaving her this way
it terrifies my soul
Emotions pouring out like rain
have taken it's sad toll
We tried to make the pieces fit
but never found a way
We both are so unhappy now
what else is left to say?
If I could find a way I would
to change this dreadful plan
We cannot even talk alone
how can we make a stand?

ReplyDeleteReading this reminded me of summer again. Great descriptiveness and rhyming here.

Emotional guilt
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people going through this would have done it a lot sooner, if not for the burden of guilt. This is so honest and insightful and very well penned, with just the right dosage of drama.
