Hold Me Close

  

Last night I dreamt  that you were here

and laying by my side

We looked into each other’s eyes

and laughed until we cried

We drifted off to pleasant shores

and ran along the beach

The breeze was blowing through your hair

a house within our reach

I carried you through open doors

          then laid you gently down             

You whispered “Darling hold me close”

You slipped out of your gown

We toasted wine… I kissed your lips 

and then we made sweet love 

Those tender moments that we shared     

     a gift from up above
