Eyes To See

Today was much like yesterday
another day to hide...
The feelings anchored to my soul
carrying wounded pride

I try my best to wear the mask
and hope she doesn’t see
Yet deep inside my heart I know
my love has eyes to see

It’s hard to carry on each day
when all I do is cry
But even though you see no tears
there is a flood inside

  15. Beautiful
When one has so much to say and yet can't. What is felt and sensed but can't be relayed. Each day becomes a oddness of emotions and feelings and although the world is moving, everything is stagnant inside.

Simplistically woven and says so much more than it may seem

Thank you for sharing it with us

  16. There is some very strong imagery in this poem, I like the fact that almost anyone can grasp hold of it because they've been there.

  22. Jon, you really capture how it is so hard for some of us to show the emotion, but them that are buried deep inside feel their power amplified through our very soul. Excellent poetry sir!

  33. J UnitedPoets AndArtists A nighmare for a woman that loves a man is knowing he carries a burden in his heart that she is not aware of. Unless of course, she is the one that placed it there. Very nice read Jon.. Very sad, but I'm a girl that can appreciate some sadness in her reading.
