A soft gentle breeze is blowing tonight

the moon now fills the sky

I’m here all alone with you on my mind

so lonely I could cry

I wish I could fly and be there with you

Heavy Toll

The time away has cleared my mind

I now can move ahead

Those months of great uncertainty

with phantoms in my head

The issues are now clear to me

I wandered from my course

I tried to fill an emptiness

instead feel great remorse

Sometimes the issues from our past

still hold on to our soul

A gaping wound that never heals

and takes a heavy toll

Night Of A Thousand Starry Stars

Summer nights underneath the telling stars

Watching our dreams take flight as I look into your eyes

Time stands still the world disappears there is only you and I

Lovers lips commune and passion's flame unleashed

Our racing hearts entwined a perfect melody

Fate and destiny collide our path begins toward eternity

You trace me a star in the twilight with the brush of your hand

I need no words to understand the urgency of your command

I awaken my dreams underneath the night of a thousand starry stars

Starry Sea

Oh how bright the stars do shine

heaven's glory all aligned

Pulsing spheres of yellow hue

cast their light...oh what a view

Racing comets cross the sky

brilliant flashes catch my eye

Leaving trails of frozen dust

splendid view for all of us

Surely there are worlds like ours

far beyond the brightest stars

Maybe someone just like me

looks across the starry sea

The morning mist upon the ground

the sun has not arrived

Silence grips the world right now

and slumber holds their eyes

I'll greet the new day with a smile
then fate will take my hand

In my dreams you're dancing

in your long lovely gown

You sway with the music

you're expression profound

Astonishing beauty

is so aptly displayed

Sensual expression

the message conveyed

Your long hair it glistens

from the light shining down

It flows with your movement

and it streams all around

All the men in the room

they are staring at you

Enthralling performance

arrayed in purple hues

So dance on my lovely     

till I wake from my sleep

I'll sit here and watch you

these memories I'll keep

When Love Gets In The Way

We started out as such good friends

each day was so much fun

Our conversations made me laugh

strong friends we had become

In time I came to want much more

I pushed you far away

Excuses soon became your way

to stay apart each day

For many months I hurt inside

the pain would not let go

No matter what I tried to do

my feelings always showed

Each day Id try to drown you out

pretend you were not there

And then Id see you walking by

I couldn't help but stare

There is no place to run and hide 

when love gets in the way

No matter where you try to go

your heart gives you a way

The Paperback

Today I closed the paperback

the final chapter read

It's ending caught me by surprise

the hero was found dead

Throughout the book he fought and won

a master spy they say

But fate would have a different path

for him that summer day

An outdoor bar in Shepherd's Square

a woman he did meet

Her name was Juliana 

and her kisses were so sweet

She lured him to her house that day

his enemies in wait

His loneliness got in the way

they shot him by the gate

A tragic end to this man's life

he served his country well

His loneliness... achilles heel

demise..a woman's spell
